The Appalachian Wood Energy Innovations conference will be held August 24-26 in Asheville NC. The Forest Products Society in conjunction with Mississippi State University is offering an Introduction to Wood Science and Forest Products course, scheduled for September 26 – 28, 2016, at Mississippi State Universitys Department of Sustainable Bioproducts, Starkville, MS. The three day course will feature sessions on the basics of wood and wood-based products in construction, wood and the environment, product properties, wood anatomy and other topics. The course is targeted to suppliers, consultants, claims agents and industry professionals seeking to understand trees, harvesting and how wood is processed into todays products.
