The latest Drought Monitor, released today, shows some reduction in drought and dry conditions this week in eastern North Carolina and adjoining areas. However, the area of severe (D2) drought in northwestern Florida did expand slightly. Rain in the next week should further improve drought conditions in most of the region except southern Florida.
