NOAA Climate report for January 2015 shows warm and dry across most of the US

The NOAA monthly climate summary for January 2015 is now out and shows that the contiguous US as a whole, the average temperature was warmer than normal and the total precipitation was below normal.  The warmest parts of the US were in Oregon and the West Coast and the coolest parts were in southern Texas and in New England.  The wettest area was western Texas and eastern New Mexico and the driest in California.  You can read the full report at https://www.ncdc.noaa.gov/sotc/summary-info/national/2015/1
