The latest Drought Monitor shows that moderate (D1) drought has expanded in the Southeast from last week. Two areas have been newly designated in D1, including east central Georgia and central and western Alabama. The percentage of the Southeast in D1 has expanded from 6.6 to 9.2 percent of the area.
