The latest Drought Monitor, released this morning, shows that an area of moderate (D1) drought has been added to eastern North Carolina due to continuing dry conditions there. The abnormally dry areas in the region also expanded in Virginia, North and South Carolina, and Georgia as well as expanding into northeastern Florida. Puerto Rico’s conditions remain unchanged from last week. I don’t expect to see many changes in next week’s map.
