The latest Drought Monitor, released this morning, shows that there were improvements in drought and dry conditions in Virginia and Georgia, minor changes in the Carolinas and Alabama, and a small new area of moderate drought (D1) along the East Coast of Florida. There were no changes in Puerto Rico this week. Rain in the next week is likely to improve conditions on next week’s map in most locations except perhaps for Florida.
