I will be shutting down the blog for about a week to spend time with family and friends over the holidays. I thank you all for your continued support of this blog and I look forward to coming back near the end of 2023 to take a preliminary look at the climate statistics for 2023 and the year ahead. I want to give a special shout-out to the National Weather Service employees (including those who are working midnights) and other workers who will be working throughout the holidays to make sure we are warned about extreme weather, protecting us from danger, and staffing hospitals, gas stations and other places that are open throughout the Christmas holiday.
