The latest Drought Monitor, released earlier this week, shows small increases in dry conditions in several states as recent rains have continued to fall. The extreme drought is now gone from Florida and other areas have been reduced. A couple of small areas on the eastern coast of Florida did see slight expansions of drought. Since Florida has now entered its rainy season, further improvements are likely on next week’s map.
