The latest Drought Monitor, released today, shows widespread improvements in drought in eastern North and South Carolina and Virginia due to the East Coast storm last week. Conditions in parts of Alabama and Georgia, which were largely missed by the storm, got worse in the latest map. There were no changes in Puerto Rico this week. Rain of around an inch are expected in most of the region in the next week except in the Florida peninsula where it will be drier.
