This week’s Drought Monitor showed that rain in Alabama has removed the moderate (D1) drought and a good bit of the abnormally dry conditions there. It also reduced dry conditions in Georgia. There are now two small areas of D1 in southern Florida, but overall dry conditions did not expand. There is also a new area of abnormally dry conditions in northern Virginia.
