In the latest issue of the Drought Monitor, severe drought (D2) has expanded again across parts of the Southeast, including southwestern Georgia, central Alabama, and a small area in northeastern Virginia. Some rain later this week may provide a bit of relief but we still expect drought to continue for the next few weeks unless we see a big change in the weather pattern.
