The latest Drought Monitor, released earlier this week, shows that the recent rainy conditions has continued to put a dent in the drought and abnormally dry conditions that were still hanging on in the region after decreasing the last few weeks. Now Alabama and Georgia are completely free of dry conditions while only small amounts of dry conditions and drought are present in Virginia, North Carolina and South Carolina. There is still quite a bit of drought in Florida but it has been pared back by recent wetter conditions.
