The latest Drought Monitor, released earlier this week, show that dry conditions expanded across Alabama as well as western parts of Georgia and Florida this week in the areas that were not affected by Hurricane Debby. There was very little rain there and temperatures were warmer than normal. There were no changes in Virginia from last week. Cooler and rainier conditions next week should prevent the drought from expanding in most parts of the region.
