Moderate drought coverage in Florida jumped from 5 percent to 66 percent of the state this week under unseasonably warm temperatures and almost no rain. Moderate drought was also introduced to the Mobile area of Alabama, and abnormally dry conditions grew slightly along the southern Georgia border. With little rain expected in the next seven days, drought is likely to expand in next week’s map.
