The lack of rainfall in the last week has led to the expansion of abnormally dry (D0) conditions across a wide swath of the Southeast and the introduction of a small area of moderate drought (D1) into Alabama. The moderate drought in Georgia and South Carolina also expanded. The next week looks relatively dry, so these conditions are not likely to go away in the short term, although a wetter pattern is expected to return in April.
