The latest Drought Monitor shows that abnormally dry conditions have expanded slightly in the Southeast over the last week (the map is finalized on Tuesday). A new area of D0 conditions has now appeared in the area around Augusta GA. With the lack of rain this week, we can expect more expansion on next week’s map unless we get a lot of rain this weekend. Precipitation looks likely for the southern region but less certain for the new area.
