Even though there is no drought in the Southeast at the moment, a new area of abnormally dry conditions has appeared in coastal South Carolina with small extensions into Georgia and North Carolina in the past two weeks. This is in addition to the remnant dry conditions along the east coast of Florida. These areas have been missed by the heavy rains that have hit other parts of the region.
