The latest Drought Monitor, released today, shows that drought got a little worse this week for some parts of the region. The biggest increase in drought was in northern Florida, where I understand blueberry producers are worried about having enough water for irrigation for frost protection in this weekend’s cold weather. The biggest improvement is in northwestern Alabama, which received some much-needed rain in the last week. There was no change in the abnormally dry conditions in Puerto Rico this week.
