I will be pausing the blog until the end of the year to spend time with family and friends over the holidays. I thank you all for your continued support of this blog and I look forward to coming back near the end of 2024 to take a preliminary look at the climate statistics for 2024 and the year ahead. I want to give a special shout-out to the National Weather Service employees (including those who are working midnights) and other workers who will be working throughout the holidays to make sure we are warned about extreme weather, protecting us from danger, and staffing hospitals, gas stations and other places that are open throughout the Christmas holiday. We value your contributions, especially when your work takes you away from your families. I also want to recognize the farmers and extension agents who work with them, especially at the end of this very tumultuous and stress-filled year. I hope that 2025 is much better for all of you.
