The latest monthly climate summary for November 2023 shows that a lot of the region was warmer than normal. Most of Virginia and eastern North Carolina were cooler than normal, as were southern Alabama and SW Georgia. Most of the region except for Florida was also drier than normal, with significant parts receiving less than 50% of normal rainfall. If we take a preliminary look at how 2023 might end up, we see that nearly all of the region since January is above normal in temperature. Rainfall over the year across Georgia and South Carolina has been quite a bit wetter than normal while other areas have been drier than normal, especially in the areas that have seen the worst drought.
