I received an email today from USDA announcing two informational webinars on the hurricane wind insurance program that has been the bane of many producers’ existence this year. I like to think that maybe I had a little to do with getting them to do this, although I don’t know that for sure. Here is the official release:

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) is hosting two webinars on the Hurricane Insurance Protection – Wind Index endorsement and Tropical Storm option, and the Risk Management Agency (RMA) is encouraging producers to learn more about the additional insurance coverage these programs can provide.

  • January 16, 2025

  • February 13, 2025
    2:00pm- 3pm CST

See full news release here for more details and links to each session.

I won’t be able to attend the first one since I am traveling on January 16, but some of you may be interested in what they say. I plan to attend the February session to learn more about this program from the official source.
