The latest 7-day QPF map shows that most of the rain this week will fall in western parts of the region, especially Alabama and western Florida and Georgia. Some rain will fall Sunday night through Monday and a second storm will affect the western parts of the region late in the week. Warmer temperatures mean that it will mainly fall as rain except perhaps in the higher elevations of the Appalachians. As expected, the weather pattern is shifting to something warmer and more like what we expect this time of year and warmer temperatures are expected for most of the next three weeks, although some shorter cold outbreaks are still possible. Rainfall for the first two weeks is expected to be wetter than normal with a shift back to drier conditions in the 3-4 week range.
