The latest Drought Monitor, released today, shows that there was an improvement in drought conditions in Alabama and northern Florida in the last week due to recent rain there. However, eastern parts of North and South Carolina, Georgia, and the Florida Peninsula saw some areas of worsening drought this week due to lack of rain. Rainfall the next five days (until the next data cut-off on Tuesday) appear to be confined mainly to the southern part of the region and East Coast, so drought conditions may improve there while getting worse in the eastern areas that get missed by the storm this weekend. Puerto Rico continues to have no dry areas.
