NOAA just released their latest monthly climate summary for the world as a whole. It shows that this was the warmest June in record since observations began in 1880. This is due in large part to the unusually warm waters of the Atlantic Ocean and the huge warm pool in the Eastern Pacific Ocean associated with the current El Nino. You can read more atEarth just had its hottest June on record | National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (noaa.gov) or see the statistics at June 2023 Global Climate Report | National Centers for Environmental Information (NCEI) (noaa.gov). Note that the Southeast US is one of the few places on earth that was cooler than normal due to the persistent trough of low pressure that occurred across the eastern US this month.
