NOAA released their latest monthly climate summary for the globe as a whole today and it showed that the earth as a whole was the 4th warmest month ever. The Southern Hemisphere saw its warmest month on record and the global oceans reached a record high temperature for April. For the year to date, it was also the 4th warmest period since global temperature records began in 1880. Based on what we have seen so far, and especially considering the developing El Nino, there is a greater than 99% chance that 2023 will rank in the top ten warmest years on record and a 93% chance it will rank in the top five.
