The National Flash Drought Forum will be held in Boulder CO on May 2-4, 2023. It will provide background into the causes and detection of flash drought from a variety of perspectives around the country. As you may recall, flash drought is a rapid-onset event that often occurs with little warning and causes tremendous impacts, especially on agriculture. I am a panelist for one of the sessions talking about our experience in the Southeast with recent flash droughts, and there are other speakers who will be addressing flash droughts in other regions. If you are interested in participating, I encourage you to consider coming and sharing your experiences. Registration and logistics information is listed below. Registration ends on April 18, so do it soon!
