The latest Drought Monitor, released this morning, shows a decrease in drought in every state in the Southeast over the last week due to recent rains. I don’t expect to see much change in the next week in the southern part of the region, but the northern part is receiving quite a bit of rain in the next couple of days and so we may see further reductions in next week’s map. Puerto Rico remains drought-free with just a few areas of abnormally dry conditions.
