The latest 7-day QPF map shows that most of our region will experience no rain in the next week. A strong cold front will move through the area over the weekend into early next week and drop some rain in Virginia and North Carolina, and southern Florida may see a little rain towards the end of the week, but most areas will not get any rain at all from the frontal passage. Much cooler air will move into most of the region except for Florida by Monday evening, and Tuesday and Wednesday mornings could be quite nippy, with the potential for frost and even some freezes in northern areas. Unfortunately, the dry conditions will not help those who are trying to get small grains and forage established as well as those trying to finish peanut harvests.
