It’s nearly the end of November, and that means another round of climate summaries. The summary for November 2021 shows that the entire region was colder than normal (with a couple of individual stations as outliers). Rainwise, most parts of the region were also drier than normal. The exception is the Florida peninsula, where they received a lot of rain early in the month that resulted in wetter than normal conditions for the month as a whole. For the fall months of September through November, temperatures were variable across the region, as were precipitation values. Generally, the wetter areas were also the coolest. The driest area this fall by far was eastern North Carolina, so no wonder they are seeing a big expansion of drought in that area.
