The new Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change issued their newest report today, and the news was filled with the disturbing results of the new study today. I am not going to address that today because you can read that from other news sources but did want to mention something associated with it that was overshadowed by the report. As part of the package of information released, the IPCC has included a new interactive climate atlas that allows you to pick different parts of the earth, variable, dataset, and timeline to visualize how the climate is changing and is expected to change in the future. It’s an interesting tool to play around with, and I encourage you to give it a try. They have a pretty good tutorial to help you move through the atlas. You can visit it at https://interactive-atlas.ipcc.ch/. They also include a lot of information about the datasets used and how reliable they are.
