The latest 7-day QPF forecast shows that most of the rain this week is expected to fall in the western half of the region, including Alabama, northern Georgia, and the western, mountainous parts of the Carolinas and Virginia. The best chances for rain throughout the region are over the weekend, with drier conditions gradually occurring later in the week. Spotty showers will bring relief to some places, but others may miss the rain. The southern half of Georgia and most of Florida are expected to get less than half an inch but other areas should see closer to normal values. Week 2 should bring a higher chance of rain to those areas.
