The Great Flood of 2019 wiped out millions of acres of farmland in Iowa and Missouri along the Missouri River, leaving many farmers literally underwater. They hoped for help from FEMA to repair the washed-out levees and clean up their fields. However, relief has been slow to come, and in many cases the farmers had to do their own work to get things back in shape. Some farmers are still waiting. You can read about it in AgWeb here. This may be familiar to farmers in the Southeast that have been hit by the floods and high winds from hurricanes and tropical storms in the past few years, but it is the first time I have read about the continuing impacts on Midwestern farmers.
