The latest Drought Monitor, released this morning, shows that abnormally dry conditions expanded substantially in Florida over the last week, while the moderate drought in Alabama and Puerto Rico slightly decreased. Georgia’s abnormally dry conditions stayed about the same. Not much rain is expected in Florida for the next week, so we could see D0 conditions expand more in next week’s map. Meanwhile, another wet system is expected to drop heavy rain in Alabama, which could further reduce drought conditions there.
