The latest seasonal outlook for March through May 2021 was released today by NOAA. It shows that for the month of March and for the March through May spring period, they are expecting most of the Southeast to lean towards warmer and drier than normal conditions. The long-range forecasts into early March are showing warmer and drier conditions more consistent with the La Nina we are currently experiencing, and this is expected to last through spring. Fortunately, with all the rain we have gotten so far this year, NOAA has removed the possibility of spring drought from the forecast except for the Florida peninsula, which has missed a lot of the rain.
