NOAA’s Climate Prediction Center released their updated outlook for October this week. It shows that most of the Southeast is now leaning towards cooler and drier conditions than normal. The Florida peninsula is the only area that is expected to be warmer and wetter than normal. This is weighted mainly towards the first half of the month, which is easier to predict than the end of the month. With a dry cold front moving through the region today, we will see fairly cold temperatures, although fortunately the chance of frost has decreased. Most of the Southeast is supposed to be dry for the first nine days of the month other than areas along the northern Gulf Coast, which could be affected by a couple of tropical disturbances which are in or headed for the Caribbean in the next week.
