With the end of May 2020 fast approaching, the monthly departure maps from the High Plains Regional Climate Center show that across Georgia and most of the Southeast (with the exception of southern Florida) was colder than normal, thanks to the very cold temperatures experienced at the beginning of the month. Precipitation values are near normal in most of the region except for very wet conditions near Miami and in a streak that stretches north from eastern South Carolina into North Carolina. Warmer and wetter conditions should occur across most of the Southeast in early June, although the second half of June could be drier.
