The UGA Weather Network collects weather data at 86 stations across the state. This time of year, one of our most popular products are the soil temperature maps, since farmers want to plant into soil that is warm enough to promote seed germination. Most of south Georgia has reached the mid-60’s, which should be good for planting many crops. The soil moisture is not bad in spite of the recent rain across the area, but of course your fields may vary. You can see the current soil temperatures at three levels at https://www.georgiaweather.net/?content=tr&variable=XS .
