The latest Drought Monitor, released earlier this week, shows that while drought was removed from Georgia and was reduced in Florida, the area of abnormally dry conditions in Florida expanded quite a bit. That region has been missed by most of the recent rains, leading to the degradation in soil moisture there. No relief for that area is expected this week since the main storm track will be farther to the north and west, away from the southern part of our region.
