Florida forum addresses agriculture and climate change

Earlier this week, folks from Florida held a forum in Gainesville which addressed how climate change is impacting Florida agriculture, including crops, livestock, and timber. They also discussed how agriculture is taking a lead in responding to the changes that greenhouse warming is bringing to Florida. You can read a recap of what they discussed and listen to an interview with Southeast AgNet Citrus Industry Editor Tacy Callies at http://southeastagnet.com/2019/08/13/forum-addresses-climate-change-agriculture/.

Citrus groves in Florida remained under flood waters Sept. 13 after Hurricane Irma. “It’s still too early to know the full extent of the damage to Florida citrus,” Florida Commissioner of Agriculture Adam Putnam said in a Sept. 13 news release.
