Our weather pattern has recently shifted back towards a summertime pattern with lots of pop-up thunderstorms. Not everyone will get hit every day, but you can expect a lot of activity over the next week, especially in northern Georgia, where several inches could fall in the next two weeks. The models are currently showing a brief dry spell on the Labor Day weekend, but that is so far out that I don’t put a lot of faith in it. The tropics continue to be quiet. There is a small chance of development in the Gulf with a stalled front, but that would mostly just contribute more rain to the region and not much in the way of wind. If it does occur, it would most likely spin up along the East Coast near North Carolina, bringing much heavier rain to that local area.
