Since I started studying the relationship between agriculture and changes in climate about eight years ago, I have learned a tremendous amount about agriculture and how it operates. I have tremendous respect for the farmers and extension agents I work with, who have to blend knowledge of crops and livestock, markets, budgeting, agricultural chemicals, GMOs and many other distinct areas of knowledge together to keep their farms running and to make a living. I just have to study the climate. This essay on LinkedIn really hit home to me the amount of science that farmers need to use in their daily work and how all of us scientists need to work together to keep our families as well as the earth safe and in good health.
