The latest Drought Monitor, released today, shows that recent rains have reduced the amount of drought and dry conditions in Georgia and South Carolina, but Alabama and far northwest Florida have seen an expansion of severe (D2) drought as they were largely missed by the rains. North Carolina had no change. Rain for the next week is expected to be relatively light, so not much improvement is expected.
