The latest global climate summary from NOAA for April 2019 was released today. It shows that April 2019 was the second warmest since records began in 1880, surpassed only by 2016. The January through April period is the 3rd warmest on record, after 2016 and 2017.  The top five highest year to date temperature averages have all occurred since 2010. Note that for April, 2019 was near normal for the Southeast, but was above normal for January through April thanks to a warm February.
