Hurricane Michael’s Impact on Vegetation as Seen from Space

Here is a really neat image and accompanying story on the damage to vegetation in southwest Georgia caused by Hurricane Michael last year. The winds from this storm were so strong that it blew down leaves across a wide swath of land well in advance of when they would usually fall. The impacts were so strong that you can see this loss of greenery from space. Dr. Marshall Shepherd of UGA showed the image and described it in this article here.
