The Maryland Daily Press posted an interesting story this week about the slow but sure impact that rising sea level is having on coastal residents in rural counties in their state. A lot of the focus on how to deal with higher sea levels and more frequent flooding has been concentrated on the impacts on cities like Norfolk VA and Miami FL. But coastal residents in rural areas will be just as affected as the urban folk, and often have less resources to deal with it. The lessons certainly apply to the Southeast as well.
