This week is the National Weather Service’s Severe Weather Preparedness Week. Each day they will highlight a different type of severe weather that occurs in the state and give tips for how to be safe through the storms. You can read more at https://www.weather.gov/ffc/2019_swpw. While severe weather can and does happen in every month of the year in Georgia, the primary season for severe weather is in the next few months as warm air moves back into the region from the south.
