One of the newer crops that is getting a lot of attention in Georgia is citrus. I’ve worked with several farmers who are looking into satsumas and other cold-hardy varieties to see how well they can do in our state. I was happy to hear from one of my farmers down near Bainbridge in SW Georgia that his citrus trees survived Hurricane Michael, although his taller chestnuts did not do so well. Here is a nice video featuring another citrus farmer, Lindy Savelle talking about developing citrus crops for her farm. You can view it at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NnVbJIcehA4&feature=youtu.be.
