The Southeast Farm Press noted today that there will be a meeting for Georgia landowners who lost timber from the high winds of Hurricane Michael. The meeting is hosted by the Georgia Forestry Commission. GFC and personnel from the Farm Service Agency, Natural Resources Conservation Services, and University of Georgia Cooperative Extension will discuss how landowners can proceed with salvage and recovery, including cost share opportunities, and will provide information about resources available to assist them with the restoration process.

The meeting starts at 9:30 a.m. at the Newt Hudson Agricultural Center, 630 County Farm Road in Rochelle, Ga. It does not appear that you need to sign up, but it would not surprise me if there were a big crowd.

This follows another meeting that was held October 25 in Decatur County to discuss options for severely damaged forests. You can read about that meeting at https://www.thepostsearchlight.com/2018/10/26/georgia-forestry-commission-holds-full-house-meeting-on-timber-destruction-for-landowners/.
