As climate changes, agricultural producers are looking to move into new areas with beneficial climates as well as access to irrigation water. Some changes are being seen in the US as corn is now grown in areas that used to be too dry, and crops like olives are now being started in the Southeast. Here is a story from Reuters on a plan to move production of many crops that are now being raised in California to Portugal, where a huge new reservoir is bringing ample irrigation water to areas that were not previous available for production.
