You have all noticed how lush and green the Southeast is this year from all the rain we’ve been having, although there are not many places (with the exception of in Virginia) that have set records for summer rainfall. There are a few additional scattered places like Atlanta which are in the top five wettest so far. But if you use the Southeast Regional Climate Center’s Perspectives tool to look at regional rankings by station, you can see that there are many stations that are in at least the top ten warmest minimum temperature rankings, and a number in the top five. This demonstrates that the wet and humid conditions are keeping things sultry at night, while the extra clouds during the day are not having a particularly noticeable effect on daytime temperatures.
